Environment elements Nemi lake Roman archeology PBR

Lake Nemi is a small Italian volcanic lake, located on the Alban Hills in the Castelli Romani area, a tourist destination for the numerous archaeological finds found in the area, it is famous because near the lake there is the "museum of Roman ships" , where once between 1927 and 1932 two huge Roman ships celebrating the emperor Caligula were found in the lake, they were kept as a museum until their destruction in 1944 (by the Germans). Not far away, still visible, is the "Temple of Diana" (not accessible, in continuous restoration), 10 minutes away, perched on the mountain, is the town of Nemi, overlooking the lake.
