Apply science-based algorithms that increase problem-solving skills and reading comprehension of any scientific textbook
What you'll learnApply tools to analyze any scientific textbook logically, and evaluate the meaning of hard periods more easily.
Apply tools that reveal only the key parts of a textbook's logic.
Apply science-based algorithms to learn deeply Key Concepts, Methods/Algorithms, pieces of code, Theorems/Principles, or mathematical derivations' rationale.
Understand thoroughly a higher number of pages per semester.
Apply the learning material to a higher number of exercises, or examination tests per semester.
Create a scientific database that increases enormously your ability to solve far-transfer problems - no a single chance without a database.
Create new knowledge and insights that are not written in the textbook nor said in the classroom - impossible to reach without overcoming the WM's limitations.
RequirementsNo specialized knowledge is required. However, because the ideas reflect the findings of deep, scientific theories, I expect you to focus and actively apply what I explain to the exercises/challenges I propose, and to the subjects you are currently studying too.
DescriptionAnalytic reading comprehension for scientists is designed to provide busy students of mathematics, engineering, physics, or any other science field with several years of practical learning abilities, the same, or even superior, to those possessed by academic and industry professionals operating in your same field.
I developed Analytic reading comprehension for scientists starting from the scientific theories developed over the past 40 years, e.g., the theory of self-explanations and the icap theory by michelene chi; the theory of seliberate practice by anders erikson; ausubel's assimilation theory.
I have then combined the results of these theories with critical thinking, lateral thinking, and my experience in mathematical/engineering problem-solving, and distilled everything into 7 powerful algorithms
gARC. Generative algorithm for reading comprehension.
gASE. Generative algorithm for self-explanations.
gASK. Generative algorithm for the study of (mathematical and non-mathematical) key concepts.
gASM. Generative algorithm for the study of methods.
gAST. Generative algorithm for the study of theorems.
gABCM. Generative algorithm for building a concept map.
gAELS. Generative algorithm for extracting the logic of a subject.
The
course is designed to satisfy the needs of busy students who don't want to spend dozen of hours before learning how to apply the ideas to their daily tasks.
It's sufficient for you to devote 1 hour a day - from monday to friday - and you will be able to complete the course in just 5 days! This guarantees you can apply rapidly the learning content to the subjects you are currently studying.
If you follow through with this course, you will improve your,
Reading comprehension performance.
You learn how to analyze and evaluate any complex textbook's logic.
You learn how to organize your weekly workload by monitoring 6 metrics and performing the associated tasks.
You recall the learning material easily.
You learn how to examine key parts of the text as a professional scientist.
You learn how to create new knowledge that's not written in the textbook or said in the classroom.
Logical and analytical skills.
You learn how to apply inductive thinking to what you read.
You learn how to use chunking to various pieces of information (mathematical, non-mathematical key concepts, programming language methods, etc.) to increase their memorability.
You learn effective techniques to translate parts of the text into strategic sentences, and then examine them.
You learn how to reduce text complexity.
Problem-solving skills.
You learn how to create a scientific database or scientific second brain.
You learn how to extract the logic of worked-out examples/solutions, or exercises.
You learn how to perform comparative and contrastive analysis to extract the rule that allows you to recognize when it's effective to use a problem-solving method rather than another one.
Overall performance.
You increase the probability to get higher grades.
You will learn how to retain a great deal of information through,
A fibonacci-based excel spreadsheet where you can organize your spaced reviews.
A time journal that helps you form new habits, combat procrastination, record your daily tasks, and monitor how successful you are at working in specific places during a specific period of time.
The wise use of concept mapping.
Algorithms that help you focus only on those key aspects that matter, thereby improving information memorability.
You will notice a far-transfer effect to those areas of your life requiring analytic reasoning. That's due to the use of ideas that are used in analysis and technical problem-solving.
In other words, the course helps you navigate your studies from the initial organization of learning material, weekly tasks, and workload, through the analytic reading of the text, and the practical implementation of what you have studied through the solution of the exercises or past examination tests.
Price
The price absorbs the following features
Effective tools. There is no excuse whatsoever. The algorithms have undergone a wild testing period and they produce results. They produce great results in terms of near-transfer and far-transfer effects. In this sense, analytic algorithms are pervasive in that, once applied several times to real-world subjects, they will ingrain a thinking approach that unconsciously applies to the areas of life that call for an analytic mindset.
Immediate feedback. Many courses don't include feedback. This course is based on the scientific idea that without feedback, learning is dramatically undermined. For this reason, I recommend asking questions. Moreover, based on the demand, I might consider the possibility to make online lectures to provide more and more feedback at zero cost. It's all included in the price.
Three years of research and development. It took me three years of hard work before packaging the results of my research into this course. I have experience as a researcher, I know how to develop new methods, and I have condensed into 7 practical algorithms among the most influential scientific theories. In addition to this, this course includes my experience in problem-solving and lateral thinking accumulated in the past 10 years.
Constant updates. You will benefit from the continuous updates at no additional cost. Scientific research is always in evolution. It has a unique direction of march: "forward" rather than backward.
Time required. Completing this course has taken an obscene amount of time, especially the last year. But it was so strong the desire to take students learning abilities to another level that I worked hard no matter how long it required.
Easy to carry through. I purposely made the course "short" enough - ca. 5 hours - to give everyone the chance to maximize learning in the least possible time. Nowadays, we all are busy, and we don't have the time to spend dozens of hours watching lengthy courses. A lot of courses are impregnated with tons of material that you will never use. But, don't be fooled! The ideas require hard thinking.
Analytic reading comprehension for scientists has changed my life and I would wish I had developed it many years ago.
I am pretty sure it will have an impact on your academic and professional career too.
S.N.?
Who this course is forStudents of mathematics, engineering, physics, or any other field where math is involved. Also, the course is perfect for those who want to advance their analytic reading skills, and learn how to generate solutions to difficult problems through the extraction of problems' logic, and the use of a scientific database.
