When it comes to creating patterns and pattern collections, I like to be as efficient as possible. Having tools at the ready for this, like Affinity Designer Templates, is exactly what I am looking for. I want them to be re-usable, so I am not re-inventing the wheel every time I want to create a pattern. These templates are fantastic because you don't need multiple artboards. In fact, you don't need an artboard at all. You will still see your repeat spread across 30" so you can make decisions about placement of your pattern motifs in real-time. And did I mention, you only need one copy of the motif? Never again will you have to use complicated math and duplication to have the motif appear on both sides of the document. This makes it so much more efficient than the old method.

Affinity Designer Efficient Reusable Repeat Pattern Templates, will show you my methods for creating the reflected repeat within a full drop repeat. I will be giving you the full drop template to give the method a test drive. As a template, you will always be able to re-use the original.
When you use the
"new from template"command, the original file stays untouched and a new template is created for you to work on.
